History of Astrology
The historical journey of astrology is a vast area of concern which incorporates a huge span of human history and culture. In modern era, there are three major segments of astrology – Western Astrology, Indian or Jyotish Astrology and Chinese or East Asian Astrology. Western astrology and its incorporated belief are an influenced largely by ancient Babylonians either directly or indirectly. From there, it came to Greece during middle of 4th century, B.C. and arrived at Rome prior to the advancement of Christian period. However, in India and China the evolvement of astrology was quite an independent occurrence. During its overture to the Greek culture through the Egypt, both astrology and astronomy were dynamically developed in the Nile region and the periods marked were around Hellenistic and Roman eras. The further advancement of astrology was apparent by the Arabian culture between seventh and thirteenth century, while in Europe it was around 14th and 15th centuries. The Mayans from Central America and the Aztecs had their own unique and specialized form of astrology.
