Astrology
The term 'Astrology' came from Greek words, which means 'study or science of the stars'. It comprises of a cluster of systems, traditions and beliefs which facilitate an understanding of relative positions of celestial bodies in terms of human relations, personality, life events and other earthly matters. Those who practice astrology are referred to as astrologers or astrologists. Dated back to 3rd millennium BC, astrology was used as a mode of shaping cultural values, early astronomical understanding and other related disciplines all through the path of history. In the historical age, astrology and astronomy were not considered as separate field of study in most of the cases. It was Renaissance from which astronomy started to deviate from astrology and took its modern understanding as a separable and distinguishable field of study since 18th century. In other definition of astrology, it is defined as the science of the persuasion of the cosmos on earthly life. In the modern era, astrologers prefer to describe astrology as a figurative or emblematic language or a scientific study or an artistic endeavor or a form of divination or a combination of all. Despite having so many different definitions and understandings of astrology, it is commonly ascribed as the mode of using celestial positions in order to expound past and present events and forecast about the future events. Although scientific communities consider astrology as nothing but another superstitious form of understanding, the interest associated with astrology will be still remain widespread among the mass.
